Job Summary
Elementary Teacher duties include teaching basic subject matter to Kindergarten–5th grade students using the district-adopted curriculum, developing lesson plans, and providing individualized and small group instruction. The role uses a variety of instructional strategies (inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery) to translate plans into learning experiences, maintains classroom behavior standards, evaluates academic and social growth, records progress, and communicates with parents. Other responsibilities include collaboration with staff on student health/learning problems, creating engaging displays and displays, supervising students during the day, administering standardized tests, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in faculty committees and district-required evaluations; requires knowledge of best teaching practices, classroom management, data assessment, safety procedures, first aid/CPR, and district policies. Minimum qualifications include valid AZ teaching certification/endorsement, DPS fingerprint clearance, EPI assessment, and a teacher screening interview.
