Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned; develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum; assess student learning and plan instruction using results; collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs; plan goals with staff and supervise instructional aides and volunteers; sponsor extracurricular activities; maintain professional communication with parents, students, and community; participate in staff development and comply with district policies; ensure classroom environments conducive to learning and manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct; adhere to district safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (ESL endorsement / certification required for selected subjects)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
