Job Summary
Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students; teach K-5 and create an engaging classroom environment aligned with ABSS curriculum; develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials; monitor student outcomes and maintain appropriate records; communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community; collaborate with administrators and colleagues; supervise classroom activities and coordinate with teacher assistants/volunteers; maintain classroom safety, discipline, and records, and participate in school management and professional responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Must hold a valid Teacher’s License issued by the state of NC in applicable field and for level assigned
- Must not be on the NCDPI list of teachers no longer qualified to teach and/or must not be currently engaged in a certification revocation hearing process
- Spanish Speaking (preferred)
- National Board Certification (preferred)
- Demonstrated record of achieving Highly Qualified status on evaluations (preferred)
- Ability to plan and implement instructional programs meeting diverse student needs
- Ability to monitor and maintain student safety and behavior in classroom and school settings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with ABSS curriculum and technology integration
