Job Summary
The Elementary Teacher will plan and provide learning experiences for students in a K-5 setting, develop and modify instructional plans, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, and communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community. Responsibilities include supervising students in various school settings, maintaining records, and following required procedures; align instruction with ABSS curriculum, infuse technology, and create a safe, engaging classroom environment that motivates all students to achieve learning objectives. The role requires collaboration with administrators, colleagues, and volunteers, and entails planning, administering, and supervising standardized assessments in accordance with applicable codes and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Must hold a valid Teacher’s License issued by the state of NC in applicable field and for level assigned
- Spanish Speaking (preferred)
- National Board Certification (preferred)
- Demonstrated record of achieving Highly Qualified status on evaluations (preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
- Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students
