Job Summary
Elementary STEM-focused Teacher Assistant position supporting instructional delivery for grades K–5 and responsibilities as a School Bus Driver. The role includes planning and delivering instructional activities, monitoring student progress, maintaining a positive learning environment, and transporting students to and from school and activities. Requires knowledge of classroom routines, district/state standards, and the ability to support diverse learners; includes pre-trip/post-trip bus inspections, following routes and schedules, and ensuring student safety. Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families are essential. Rotates among three Newton, NC elementary schools; 10-month term; non-exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must hold or be willing to obtain North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with P and S Endorsement
- Must be 18 years of age
- Highly Qualified Status requirement: associate's degree or higher OR 48 hours of college credit OR Workkeys assessments (Applied Mathematics level 4, Reading for Information level 4, Workplace Documents level 3)
