Job Summary
Alden Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified, certified Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our Transitions classroom. The role involves providing specially designed instruction to students with Moderate Disabilities (PK-8), conducting IEP development and data collection, collaborating with general education teachers to deliver universally designed instruction, and aligning lessons with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The teacher will support access to the general education curriculum, adapt and modify curriculum and assessments, and foster social-emotional learning within an elementary setting. A valid Massachusetts teaching certification with SEI Endorsement is required, along with citizenship, residency, or work visa status. All full-time employees are eligible for Town of Duxbury benefit plans.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement: Teachers of Students with Moderate Disabilities (Prk-8)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Experience with IEP development and data collection
- Experience in collaboration with general education teachers to deliver universally designed instruction
- Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners in an elementary setting
- Experience in adaptation and modification of curriculum and assessments
- Ability to plan and implement lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks across varied subjects
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
