Job Summary
Instruct assigned fifth-grade classes, delivering lessons that meet individual student needs while establishing clear objectives aligned with district curriculum goals. Diagnose learning challenges regularly and employ varied instructional techniques to guide students toward established performance expectations. Maintain accurate records, provide progress reports, and communicate with parents as required. Supervise paraprofessionals, plan assignments, and contribute to district decisions regarding budget and facilities. Participate in professional growth programs, evaluation processes, and building meetings during the extended day. Support student safety and enforce classroom behavior rules consistent with the SPS code of conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area
- Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities)
- Grade level (PreK-8) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
