Job Summary
Elementary Special Education Teacher responsible for preparing students for college success through rigorous instruction. Essential duties include demonstrating solid content knowledge, establishing high expectations, utilizing diverse instructional strategies, and analyzing student data to set progress goals. The role requires strong classroom management, relationship building with students, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. A Bachelor’s degree and evidence of appropriate teaching certification are mandatory, along with a commitment to student success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university
- Demonstrated mastery of content knowledge
- Evidence of NJ Department of Education certification (CE/CEAS/Provisional/Standard) or out of state certification
- Extremely strong classroom management abilities
- Relentless work ethic
- Belief that all students have what it takes to be successful
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in an urban No Excuses school setting strongly preferred
- Experience developing curriculum or potential to lead curricular development is strongly preferred
