Job Summary
Elementary Special Education STRIDE Teacher (anticipated) in Fall River Public Schools. Responsible for delivering instruction and support per students' IEPs and 504 Plans, assisting staff with teaching and learning initiatives, and coordinating with the Evaluation Team Chairperson, School Psychologist, and other special education staff for diagnostic assessments and service delivery. Participates in planning to promote integration of students with special needs, chairs perfunctory Review and Annual Review Meetings, administers educational assessments for Annual Reviews and Re-evaluations, supports development of educational plans, and maintains required records. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a major in Special Education and an appropriate Massachusetts K-12 license; salary ranges from $59,491 to $105,164 depending on steps and credentials. The salary is in accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract and the district emphasizes equal opportunity employment. Location is Spencer Borden Elementary School.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education
- Massachusetts K-12 teaching license
- Experience in regular and/or special education settings
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and closing the achievement gap
- Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
- Experience designing and implementing standards-based instruction
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff
