Job Summary
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials using effective teaching strategies for grades K-5. Maintain classroom management, address learning and behavior issues, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Evaluate student accomplishments regularly using multiple assessment methods and provide progress reports. Communicate promptly with students, staff, parents, and the community. Protect students, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions. Uphold board policy, district goals, and school rules while adhering to health and safety policies. Share responsibility for student supervision throughout the school day and perform assigned non-instructional duties. Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory by attending workshops, PLCs, and staff-development sessions. Respect confidentiality of records regarding students, parents, and teachers.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved education program in the subject area
- Strong background and understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to speak, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to fit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, or pull
- Standard vision requirements
- Ability to prepare and analyze written or computer data
- Ability to operate machines or equipment
- Ability to observe general surroundings and activities
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions occasionally
