Job Summary
Deliver specific course content in an online environment while monitoring student progress through Stride K12's learning management system. Provide instruction, support, and guidance to manage the learning process, focusing on individual student needs and personalizing learning for all. Maintain grade books to ensure academic integrity, make placement decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns. Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests and establish positive rapport with families by communicating regularly with parents and learning coaches. Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels and utilize asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal guidance. Travel approximately once per month or up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development and student testing.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Elementary School Teaching Certification
- North Carolina residency
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
