Job Summary
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials while implementing differentiated strategies to support the intellectual, social, and emotional development of K-5 students. Maintain effective classroom management by addressing learning and behavior issues, and evaluate student progress using multiple assessment methods to provide timely feedback. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff to foster an inclusive school culture, while adhering to health and safety policies and protecting student materials and facilities. Uphold district goals, administrative procedures, and board policies, and share supervision responsibilities for students across various school areas. Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory by attending workshops, PLCs, and staff-development sessions as required.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved education program in the subject area
- Strong background and understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to speak, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, push, or pull
- Standard vision requirements
- Ability to prepare and analyze written or computer data
- Ability to operate machines or equipment
- Ability to observe general surroundings and activities
- Ability to occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
