Job Summary
Elementary School Teacher responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with NY State Standards in a collaborative classroom setting (teacher pair). Analyze data to increase student achievement, build academic and social-emotional skills through explicit instruction, communicate regularly with families, advocate for student needs, develop and monitor IEPs, participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences, and differentiate instruction with the co-teacher to support diverse learners. Emphasis on the Science of Reading, multisensory approaches, inclusion, and professional learning to continuously improve student outcomes. Bridge Prep is a public charter elementary school on Staten Island, NY, dedicated to student-centered learning and serving students with dyslexia or language-based reading difficulties.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree
- A current New York State elementary school teaching certification
- Commitment to or experience working with students at various academic levels
- An understanding of special education mandates, protocols, processes, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and service plans
- Experience analyzing data to create, implement, and reflect on student instructional goals
