Job Summary
Elementary School Physical Education Teacher role responsible for creating comprehensive PE lesson plans, teaching physical activity concepts, evaluating student progress, promoting lifelong fitness, collaborating with teachers to integrate PE into the curriculum, maintaining equipment and facilities, and communicating with parents. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment, stay current with research in physical education, and uphold FRCS’s commitment to anti-bias and anti-racist education. The position requires teaching students across elementary to high school levels, with responsibilities including planning, assessment, mentorship, and participation in district activities as outlined in the FRCS contract.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Strong knowledge of sports, fitness principles, and health education
- Deep commitment to DEI and anti-bias, anti-racist approaches to education and service.
- Candidates are subject to background checks, including CORI clearance and fingerprinting
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- MA State Certification/Licensure K-12 Preferred but not required (preferred)
- Experience working in an urban school district (preferred)
