Job Summary
Conduct instructional leadership by planning, coordinating, and administering school activities including curriculum, instruction, assessment, student conduct, and plant operations. Supervise and evaluate licensed and classified personnel while managing daily operations in the Principal's absence. Interpret district policies for students, parents, and staff; lead Positive Behavior Support systems; and oversee student safety during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and after-school activities. Review lesson plans, report cards, and attendance data; chair Child Study and IEP meetings to ensure Special Education compliance. Requires a Virginia teaching license with Administration endorsement, Master's degree, and three years of teaching or supervisory experience. Reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal on a 213-day schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12
- Holds a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Has a minimum of three years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator, or supervisor
- Possesses leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the community
- Possesses strong communication, writing, and presentation skills which demonstrate the ability to assimilate, analyze, and present information clearly and concisely
- Possesses the ability to frequently sit
- Possesses the ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or student supplies
- Possesses the ability to reach with hands and arms
- Possesses the ability to regularly see, talk and hear
- Possesses the ability to frequently stand, walk and occasionally run
- Possesses the ability to occasionally move students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices
- Possesses the ability to occasionally travel on student field trips
- Possesses the ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or bend
- Possesses the ability to occasionally lift up to approximately 25 pounds
- Must be available for 11 months/213 days
- Must work 7 hours per day
- Must be located in a non-remote setting
