Job Summary
Elementary Reading Intervention Teacher (K-6) at Kansas City Public Schools. Provides direct instruction to students identified for reading intervention in individual and small group settings, conducts targeted assessments, analyzes reading miscues to determine scaffolding needs, creates schedules for intervention access, sets clear objectives with written evidence of preparation, conducts formal and informal assessments, differentiates instruction with appropriate literacy resources, collaborates with families and school staff, participates in staff development, and engages in professional learning to enhance literacy knowledge and practice. Requires Missouri Elementary Teacher Certification and/or Reading Certification and a minimum of five years of elementary teaching experience.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a Missouri Elementary Teacher Certification and/or Reading Certification
- Minimum of five (5) years of elementary teaching experience
- Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards
- Knowledge of the five (5) areas of reading instruction
- Background experience and knowledge in the area of elementary reading instruction
