Job Summary
Teach reading and writing to elementary students in-person at the GradePower Learning Meridian-Boise center, working directly with up to three students simultaneously as an Interactive Coach. Follow pre-planned lessons and GradePower methodologies while completing daily student communication updates to key staff. Maintain a friendly, professional manner and guide students' understanding of the K-5th grade curriculum to build their self-confidence and academic skills. This part-time role requires flexibility for after-school and evening hours, Monday through Friday, with at least two days per week. Applicants must reside near Meridian, Idaho, and pass a background check.
Required Qualifications
- Flexibility to work during after-school and evening hours: Monday-Friday (4:00pm - 8:00pm) at least 2 days a week
- A commitment of a year is preferred
- Reliability
- In-person work capability
- Ability to commute to the Meridian-Boise location
- Background check
- Residence in or within a short commute of the Meridian area
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at an Elementary School (or equivalent) level
- Strong English writing, oral communication skills, and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Second year or later university students with tutoring experience
- Teaching certification
- Good knowledge of the current K - 5th grade curriculum
- A commitment of a year
- Continuing for longer than a year
