Job Summary
Elementary Learning Support Teacher responsible for developing and implementing an education program for students with special needs, creating and executing IEPs, administering diagnostic assessments, managing the classroom, progress monitoring, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned with IEPs, writing and implementing FBAs and PBSPs, utilizing ABA techniques as preferred, working with PaTTAN Autism Initiative consultants, maintaining inclusive classrooms, and assuming additional duties as assigned. Requires PA Certification in Elementary Special Education, ability to work in a team, and willingness to coordinate with parents and specialists; bilingual Spanish preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day for the 2026-2027 school year, with salary scales published by degree and experience.
Required Qualifications
- PA Certification in Elementary Special Education
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
- Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people
- Must be cooperative, congenial, and self-motivated
- Ability to complete tasks and run a classroom with minimal supervision
- Duties and responsibilities as described (education program development, IEPs, assessments, progress reports, collaboration with multidisciplinary team)
- Experience with ABA techniques preferred
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day
- Location: Davenport Elementary, Norristown, PA
- Salary schedule aligned to contract agreements (Bachelor’s to Doctorate scales)
