Job Summary
Elementary Innovation and Design Teacher (STEM) responsible for leading a PK-4 Innovation, Design, and Computer Science program aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Design and implement engaging, hands-on experiences, develop a vertically aligned K-4 scope and sequence, facilitate project-based and inquiry-based learning, integrate literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies into authentic design challenges, collaborate with Green Brook Middle School to create seamless K-8 experiences, and facilitate gifted enrichment opportunities. Teach age-appropriate computer science concepts, implement robotics and coding activities, introduce emerging technologies, promote responsible technology use, and manage the Innovation and Design Lab. Plan family engagement events, build partnerships with community organizations, and contribute to district initiatives in technology integration and STEM education. Stay current with trends in computer science education and attend professional development, maintain records, and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a valid New Jersey Integrative STEM and Technology teaching certificate or equivalent certificate
- Has proven experience in applying design thinking principles and methodologies
- Has experience in project-based learning and technology integration
- Has a strong understanding of the NJSLS for Design Thinking, Computer Science, and Engineering
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators and others
- Successfully completes required criminal history check and has proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
