Job Summary
Teach up to three students daily in small groups, guiding them through provided English and French curriculum materials without lesson planning. Deliver instruction in-person during after-school and evening shifts from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, with some Saturday availability from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Complete daily student communication updates and post-lesson notes while maintaining a friendly, professional manner. Assist students in developing self-confidence and academic skills, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree, teaching certification, and strong spoken/written French and English abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in spoken and written French and English
- Comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level
- Ability to instruct class sessions in French and or English
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Some experience teaching/tutoring English and French
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Vulnerable sector screening
- Commute to the Niagara Falls location
- Reside in or within a short commute of the Niagara Falls area
Desired Qualifications
- Commitment until the end of the school year
- Continuing through the summer
- Up to Grade 12
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Teaching certification
- Good knowledge of the current French core curriculum
