Job Summary
Design and deliver ELA curriculum and instruction to maximize student learning at elementary campuses. Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development in ELA; analyze district, campus, and student data to guide instruction; collaborate on curriculum development and TEKS-based assessments; model teaching and support staff in planning learning experiences; facilitate staff development and PLCs; maintain confidentiality and coordinate communications with the Elementary ELA Coordinator; participate in ongoing professional development and work with district and campus leaders to supervise instructional programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Texas teacher’s certificate or SBEC credentials as required by state
- Three (3) or more years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school ELA
- Campus leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of ELA content and methodology
- Ability to work with principals, teachers, students and community
- Ability to provide feedback and coaching
- Ability to conduct staff development and mentor teachers
- Ability to develop curriculum activities and TEKS-based assessments
- Experience with emerging technologies in the classroom
