Job Summary
Digital Learning Teacher to advance digital literacy and innovative learning in Des Moines Public Schools. Delivers direct instruction in information and digital literacy aligned with the district standards, collaborates with classroom teachers to integrate technology into instruction, co-plans and co-teaches lessons that use digital tools for personalized and blended learning, and provides coaching and professional development on technology integration. Partners with the Library & Digital Learning Associate and DMPS technology department to address building-level technology needs, ensuring a ready-for-instruction digital learning environment, while modeling innovative instructional practices and meeting Iowa Teaching Standards. Requires valid Iowa K-6 teaching license; responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, promoting responsible digital citizenship, and maintaining confidentiality. Start date August 2026; full-time contractual position with DMEA bargaining. All candidates must pass criminal background and relevant checks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa teaching license (any K-6 endorsement)
- Bachelors or higher degree (implied by teaching license)
