Job Summary

Elementary Computer Technology and Keyboarding teacher at Gravette Public Schools. Teaches district-approved curriculum based on state frameworks; develops lesson plans and materials; provides individualized and small group instruction; translates plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences; employs diverse instructional techniques and media; assesses pupil growth using tests, checklists, and observations; identifies student needs and modifies instruction (including supports for G/T, ELL, LD, at-risk, and other needs); maintains safe classroom environment; collaborates with staff on goals and materials; communicates with parents and the community; supervises students and volunteers; participates in faculty meetings and professional development; supports extracurricular activities.

Required Qualifications

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, administrators, staff and the general public.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • REASONING ABILITY: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, table, or schedule form.
  • OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication. ability to analyze test data for use in making curricular decisions. general computer skills, including Internet research skills and data entry. ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
