Job Summary
Facilitate student achievement by instructing assigned classes in designated locations and times while planning programs that meet individual student needs. Create a conducive learning environment, guide lessons toward curriculum goals, and employ varied instructional techniques. Monitor achievement by assessing student progress, diagnosing learning disabilities with district specialists, and maintaining accurate records. Encourage behavioral standards, protect students and facilities, and implement district educational philosophies. Prepare written lesson plans upon request and assist administration in enforcing policies. Maintain professional competence through regular attendance at professional development activities and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- MO certification required: Art K-12
- Bachelor's degree
- Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teaching Certification
- Proficient in preparing rigorous, interactive, exciting, and informative lesson plans
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Desktop Publisher and database management
- Able to work effectively with colleagues, parents, administrators, etc.
- Superior interpersonal skills to facilitate an excellent educational experience for students in a high energy/stress environment
- Discretion and confidentiality with an awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education Policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed
- Highly motivated
- Able to work independently
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and to lift up to 25 pounds
