Job Summary
Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals, creating lesson plans and instructional materials that translate into engaging learning experiences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, modify instructional methods for individual needs including special education, and provide individual or small group instruction. Maintain accurate record-keeping for student activities, achievement, and attendance while administering standardized tests and overseeing non-instructional duties such as lunch supervision and carpool management. Promote a safe, conducive classroom environment, manage student conduct, and establish cooperative relationships with parents and faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Texas State Teaching Certification
- Receive and pass a criminal background check clearance
- Be trained and verified in Safe Haven child abuse awareness
- Be committed to the philosophy of Catholic school and value oriented education
- Have a current Catechist Certificate or working towards one
- Able to handle both face-to-face teaching and remote online teaching
- Stand for long periods of time
- Walk long distances across campus as well as within classroom
- Use hands to handle or manipulate tools of teaching (technology, textbooks, student work, chalkboard/whiteboard)
- Reach with hands and arms
- Climb steps
- Sit for periods of time
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Talk, hear, taste and smell
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Agrees to follow and uphold all COVID protocols set forth by the school's plan
Desired Qualifications
- State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Master's Degree in related area preferred
- Prior experience will be considered
