Job Summary
Prepare the electrophysiology suite for scheduled procedures by verifying mapping systems, stimulators, and emergency equipment are functional and calibrated. Operate recording and stimulation systems to capture intracardiac electrograms, run programmed stimulation protocols under physician direction, and monitor surface and intracardiac signals continuously. Support three-dimensional mapping during ablation, assist with catheter management and device programming, and maintain strict sterile technique. Monitor patient hemodynamics and sedation status, respond to arrhythmias, document procedural data, and manage post-procedure equipment cleaning and inventory tracking. Maintain accurate case logs, device serial numbers, and radiation dose records while supporting inventory management for catheters and leads. Requires prior hands-on EP experience, current BLS and ACLS certifications, and applicable New York licensure. This 90-day onsite contract in Albany supports a specialized cardiac electrophysiology laboratory with a well-established EP team.
Required Qualifications
- Prior hands-on experience in a cardiac electrophysiology laboratory
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Confident cardiac rhythm and intracardiac electrogram interpretation
- Working knowledge of EP recording and stimulation systems
- Familiarity with ablation and cardiac device implantation workflows
- Applicable licensure or certification for practice in New York
- Sterile technique competency
- Ability to wear lead for extended procedures
- Availability for onsite work including call coverage
Desired Qualifications
- RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) certification
- Experience with three-dimensional mapping platforms
- Experience with complex ablation procedures such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia
- Experience supporting cardiac implantable electronic device procedures
- Familiarity with multiple device manufacturers' programmers
- Prior contract or travel experience in a procedural cardiology setting
- Familiarity with device interrogation and follow-up workflows
- Experience supporting cardioversions
- Experience supporting tilt table testing
- Experience supporting loop recorder implants
- Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory
- Comfort with call rotation coverage
- Ability to work effectively with vendor clinical representatives during cases
