Job Summary
Collaborate with attending providers to review consultations, plan of care, and patient status updates for hospitalized patients. Provide direct patient care including obtaining health histories, performing physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing pharmacological agents. Perform procedures under supervision within scope of training, including central venous access, suturing, and assisting in EP procedures while operating fluoroscopy tables and stimulators. Coordinate care with interventional cardiology providers, cath lab staff, and other hospital departments to ensure timely procedure flow. Complete documentation of consultations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the EMR. Consult with colleagues, hospitalists, and specialists regarding patient management. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, educational opportunities, and quality assurance programs. Adhere to regulatory standards, state and federal regulations, and company policies while reporting safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool. Maintain up-to-date certifications and licenses. No call schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Master's of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Graduate from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Certified PA or Acute Care Certified NPAZ State Licensure as Physician Assistant
- DEA License to Prescribe Schedule II-V Controlled Substances
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS
- Understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years experience in inpatient cardiology or electrophysiology
