Job Summary
Electrophysiologist position within the Division of Cardiology at Albany Medical College for a full-time faculty role at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Responsibilities include outpatient EP clinic (including outreach), inpatient EP consultations, ablation procedures and device implantations, and collaboration with faculty across advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging. The role entails educating and developing fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers, with opportunities for teaching, mentoring, and research. Qualifications include MD/DO with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology, and demonstrated teaching/research experience with potential for academic appointment. Eligible for NY medical licensure. Salary range from $435,000 to $500,000 with additional incentive pay after the first year, plus sign-on and relocation benefits; comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, PTO, retirement plan, CME support, and malpractice coverage.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology
- Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
- Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued
- Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- Experience with complex ablations, lead extraction and advanced device therapy is highly desirable
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York
