Job Summary
Provide complete documentation and hemodynamic monitoring for patients during electrophysiology procedures, including EP studies, mapping, ablations, and device replacements. Circulate in the room while scrubbing, preparing specialized equipment, and assisting physicians with invasive and non-invasive interventions. Perform pre- and post-procedural care, remove arterial and venous sheaths, and review complex imaging interpretations under physician direction. Maintain equipment through minor maintenance, quality assurance, and inventory management while participating in ongoing inservice training. Work a 12-hour shift with on-call availability, supporting clinical and technical expertise as a resource for EP lab personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an allied health profession
- 18 months education/training in related critical care background
- Registered as a cardiovascular technologist, invasive (RCVT) or radiology cardiovascular interventional technologist, RT (CV), or the ability to pass certificate exam (ex RCES) after working a minimum of 2 years in the EP lab
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
- Successfully passing grade EKG competency exam
- Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast paced work environment
- Must demonstrate strong basic knowledge of technical equipment in area of specialty
- Must demonstrate effective leadership skills while interacting with EP lab personnel
- Must be available to take call
- Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment
- Must be detail oriented
