Job Summary

Develop and deliver robust manufacturing test solutions by integrating hardware, software, and production equipment for new products and engineering changes. Design functional test and flying probe systems while collaborating with design teams to improve testability and coverage through Design for Test practices. Provide technical support for new product introductions, conducting fault investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure production readiness. Contribute to manufacturing test strategies to shape future technologies and methodologies. This role supports the Functional Test and Flying probe team within Renishaw's Manufacturing division, focusing on driving improvements in product quality and manufacturing capability.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, or HNC/HND with significant relevant industrial experience
  • Solid understanding of electronic circuit design, with the ability to interpret complex schematics and identify potential design or test challenges
  • Proven experience developing Functional Test and/or Flying Probe solutions within an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience with in-circuit, Flying Probe, Boundary Scan, and Functional Test methodologies
  • Strong understanding and application of Design for Test (DfT) principles
  • Experience investigating manufacturing issues and delivering effective root cause analysis
  • Experience developing and contributing to manufacturing test strategies

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing functional test or SPEA Flying probe solutions
  • Knowledge and practical experience of NI LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Understanding of Boundary Scan testing techniques
  • Software development experience using VB, C#, C++, Python, or SQL
  • Experience of automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Electronics fault-finding to component level
  • Understanding of analogue and digital circuits
  • High level of PC literacy and familiarity with engineering software tools
