Job Summary
Electronics Technician, Maintenance II for Remote-Control Targets at Eglin AFB. Responsibilities include design, construction, installation, inspection, maintenance, repair and operation of remote-control systems for marine watercraft, military tracked/wheeled and civilian vehicles; troubleshooting circuits down to circuit-card level (and component level with assistance); performing pre-mission checkouts and verifying control signal and telemetry; using GPS control and TSPI data within range communications software; working indoors/outdoors with PPE, and may deploy to deployed locations. Requires Associates degree in electronics or technical-certification, or equivalent military training, plus at least three years’ related experience. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance; must pass pre-employment physical including drug screen, vision and hearing tests, and background checks. Willingness to lift 50 lbs, wear PPE, and work across varied schedules including shift changes and overtime. Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company/government vehicles is required. 40-hour work weeks with program-dependent alternate schedules; location is Eglin AFB, FL with potential deployments to Gulf of Mexico or other deployed locations.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in electronics field or certificate of completion from accredited technical school or equivalent military technical training
- minimum three years’ experience in the listed duties
- U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance
- pass pre-employment physical incl. drug screen, vision/hearing tests, medical condition certification and back X-rays
- Current Driver’s License and ability to be insured to operate company/government vehicles
- ability to lift 50 lbs., perform physical tasks, wear PPE
- willing to deploy to Gulf of Mexico or other deployed locations
- understanding of computer-controlled instrumentation and RF components (desirable)
- experience with RF, TSPI, GPS systems
- ability to work independently or on teams
- pass background screening
- security clearance ongoing
