Job Summary
Inertial Electronics Technician I performs depot-level troubleshooting and repairs on circuit cards, modules, and assemblies used in U.S. Navy navigation systems (e.g., AN/WSN-2/2A, AN/WSN-5, MK-27 Gyro, MK-39 Gyro). Responsibilities include diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic components per NAVSEA and DoD manuals; applying problem-solving and teamwork to coordinate with engineers and customers; knowledge of Navy drawings and MIL-STD documentation preferred; experience with AN/WSN-7/AN/WSN-7A RLGN preferred. Requires High School diploma or GED and formal electronics training; two years of electronics repair/maintenance; U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance. Location: Virginia Beach, VA and Norfolk, VA; travel quarterly.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Formal electronics training from Technical School or military electronics program or four-year electronics apprenticeship
- Two years electronics repair, maintenance and checkout experience
- U.S. Citizenship
- Secret clearance
