Job Summary
Senior Electronics Technician II in maintenance for Valley Metro. Design, install, diagnose, maintain, and repair electronics across transportation gear including AVL, fareboxes, cameras, radios, Wi‐Fi routers, and instrumentation control. Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, diagnostic tests, and documentation. May train others, handle repair records, and lift heavy equipment; requires two-year college in electronics or technical school; requires valid Texas driver's license; CDL preferred; safety sensitive position; on-site in Weslaco, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of directly related experience in general electronic repairs including electronic circuit boards, radio systems, AVL systems, and computer skills
- Graduation from a two-year college with major coursework in electronic technology or graduation from an accredited vocational or technical school of electronics is generally preferred
- Experience in installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License. Commercial Driver’s License preferred
- This position is classified as a safety sensitive position in accordance with FTA’s rules and regulations
