Electronics Technician & ECAD Library Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct high-precision manual soldering and rework of fine-pitch SMT components, including 0402/0201 packages, QFNs, and BGAs, while assisting engineers in debugging prototype PCBAs using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D STEP models within the Altium 365 ecosystem, utilizing the IPC Compliant Footprint Wizard to ensure designs match IPC-7351B/C standards. Cross-reference manufacturer datasheets to verify pin-to-pad mappings and manage part lifecycles by tracking obsolescence and Product Change Notices. Act as the gatekeeper for the corporate library, processing part requests and steering components through review, verification, and release phases. Maintain assembly instructions and test logs to support R&D electronics laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience using Altium Designer
- Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex electronic component datasheets, mechanical drawings, and packaging specifications
- Strong manual soldering and rework skills for fine-pitch SMT components
- Familiarity with IPC-7351 guidelines for PCB land pattern design
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits, passive components, semiconductors, and connectors
- Experience integrating generic 3D STEP models into ECAD footprints for mechanical collision checks
- Solid organizational skills with an emphasis on data taxonomy, structured naming conventions, and revision control
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent military training
- 3+ years of professional hands-on experience
- Experience with Altium 365 or Concord Pro workspace libraries
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
