Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair complex power supply and other electronic systems using test equipment. Support the development and construction of prototype power supplies and other electronic equipment. Repair and replace components and circuit boards in electronic systems. Support operations and troubleshoot power supply and control systems. Proficient with schematics and mechanical assembly drawings. Maintain and implement safety practices and procedures applicable to daily activities. Overtime work, including emergency call-in, required.
Required Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus: a BS degree in a technical field and 4 years work experience or; a technical institute, Adult BOCES certification, AA degree in a technical field, CCI program completion at BNL plus 8 years experience or; a technical high school certification program (eg. BOCES) and 9 years relevant work experience or; 10 years relevant work experience.
- Experience with fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing electronics systems.
- Experience with analog/digital electronics, computers and standard test equipment (e.g. function generators, oscilloscopes, multi-meters).
- Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, and written procedures.
- Strong computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
