Job Summary
Support site preparation for contractor installation of FENS racks, LTE antennas, and fiber optics by providing critical power circuits, grounding, and essential outlet circuits. Install separate fiber paths, cable trays, conduits, and various wire types including coaxial, shielded, and solid wires. Remove, repair, or replace components, wires, terminal blocks, and connectors; solder, splice, and install radios, computers, and satellites. Troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems using schematics and test equipment like oscilloscopes and signal generators. Perform general installation and construction efforts in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment across all weather conditions while providing a CCSI report to the FAA Technical Officer Representative.
Required Qualifications
- Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.)
- Lift at least 50 pounds
- Basic Microsoft suite, Internet, and E-mail
- Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk)
- Must be able to travel up to 100% within the Central Service Area
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training
- 3+ years' experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoots, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices
- Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
