Job Summary
Provide technical leadership for electronics systems including radar, VHF radio, CCTV, access control, and X-ray equipment. Ensure maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs are accurately recorded within the CMMS system. Develop, support, and mentor Electronics Engineers and Apprentices while ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed. Drive quality standards through auditing completed works and implementing corrective actions. This role requires a full UK Driving Licence, ability to work at heights over 30 metres, and flexibility for a 1 in 4 on-call roster providing 365 24/7 coverage. Based at the Port of Southampton, you will manage a team of three and contribute to delivering on-time planned and reactive maintenance across the Port estate.
Required Qualifications
- HNC electronics or equivalent
- Ability to work at heights of 30 metres or more
- Full driving licence
- Flexible approach to working hours, to include on-call duties
- Team supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of Radars systems, VHF Radios, CCTV and X-Rays
- Software integration and coding for bespoke assets such as Tide & Weather Stations
- Electronics or communications knowledge
- PLC knowledge
- Understanding of Network Systems
- Must be able to work at height and over/on water
- Must be available for on-call roster to provide 365 24/7 coverage
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
