Job Summary
Complete touch-up, hand-add, soldering, and rework activities on electronic assemblies while reviewing assembly drawings and build documentation before beginning work. Use soldering irons, ERSA equipment, and other approved rework tools to identify components, part numbers, polarity, and workmanship concerns. Ensure all completed work meets IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards unless otherwise specified, and communicate quality issues that may delay or prevent assembly completion. Identify and redline documentation discrepancies for supervisor or document-control team review. Follow ESD, chemical, MSDS, and workplace safety procedures, maintain a clean production area, and operate only equipment with proper training or certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience with electronics touch-up, soldering, hand-add, repair, or rework
- Experience working in an IPC-A-610-controlled electronics manufacturing environment
- IPC-A-610 certification is strongly preferred
- Experience using soldering irons or electronic rework equipment
- Ability to read assembly drawings, build instructions, and other technical documentation
- Ability to identify electronic components and component part numbers
- Excellent attention to detail and steady hands when working with small components
- Ability to work at a microscope or production workstation for extended periods
- Ability to distinguish between colors accurately and identify very small components
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to learn LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes
- Ability to comply with ITAR requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- IPC-A-610 certification is strongly preferred
