Job Summary
Electronics Production Engineer responsible for the development, support and improvement of PCBA assembly and test processes in a dynamic, high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment. Key duties include investigating process problems and performing root-cause analysis with robust corrective actions, driving continuous improvement using fact-based metrics, analyzing process performance data to justify actions, proactive process development (robustness, cost reduction, quality cost reduction, process control, efficiency, waste reduction, and modelling), and creating/validating PCBA manufacturing processes/recipes to industry practices on leading automated platforms. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, data analysis, structured approaches (Six Sigma), lean manufacturing awareness, and strong communication within a team. The position offers a hybrid working policy (home and office-based) and is a permanent, full-time role based in Woodchester, UK, with shift patterns described and a requirement for degree-level education in a relevant technical discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum degree level education (2:1 or above) in electronics engineering, manufacturing systems, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics or similar; or HNC/HND level education with relevant experience
- High level PC literacy
- Desirable: PCB assembly process/production experience, PCB electrical test process support/creation experience
- Experience applying structured problem solving and statistical analysis techniques (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Awareness of lean manufacturing tools and production metrics (productivity, efficiency, waste)
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously; strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
