Job Summary
Electronics Production Engineer responsible for the development, support and improvement of printed circuit board assembly and test processes in a dynamic, high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment. Role involves investigating process problems and performing root-cause analysis with robust corrective actions, driving continuous improvement with fact-based metrics, analyzing process performance data, proactive process development (including robustness, cost reduction, quality costs, process control, efficiency, waste reduction, and modelling), and creating/validating PCBA manufacturing processes/recipes on leading automated platforms. Candidates with process/production experience are favored, but capable problem-solvers seeking a development opportunity are encouraged to apply. The role operates on a double day shift (week 1: 6am-2pm, week 2: 2pm-10pm) with hybrid working in the UK.
Required Qualifications
- degree level education (2:1 or above) in electronics engineering, manufacturing systems, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics or related field OR HNC/HND level education plus relevant experience
- high level of PC literacy
- printed circuit board (PCB) assembly process / production experience (desirable)
- PCB electrical test process support / creation experience (desirable)
- successful application of structured problem solving and statistical analysis techniques (e.g. Six Sigma)
- awareness of lean manufacturing tools and techniques and understanding of production metrics (productivity, efficiency, waste)
- ability to work well in a team and autonomously, meeting deadlines
- hands-on practical ability
- strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
