Job Summary

Lead the design and development of next-generation electromechanical systems for cable preparation and installation platforms, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, power electronics, and embedded processors. Build, bring up, and debug prototypes using lab instrumentation while creating schematic designs and multilayer PCB layouts for control, power, and communication boards. Drive product architecture, feasibility studies, and engineering verification to scale designs into production, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and electromagnetic compatibility. Collaborate with firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver energy solutions globally. This role supports the development of energy delivery products for customers worldwide.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering discipline completed and verified prior to start from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) or more years' experience designing electronic hardware from concept through prototype and production, with at least 3 years in hardware product development
  • Three (3) or more years' experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium, OrCAD/Cadence, or KiCad, including component selection and hardware documentation
  • Three (3) or more years' experience with analog, digital, and/or power circuit design, as well as hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab instrumentation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline and from an accredited institution
  • Experience with power electronics, motor-drive or servo-drive circuit design
  • Experience with mixed-signal design, sensor interfaces, and signal conditioning
  • Experience with high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity
  • Experience designing for EMC/EMI compliance and regulatory certification (CE, UL, FCC)
  • Experience integrating embedded microcontrollers/processors and industrial fieldbus I/O (e.g., EtherCAT)
  • Experience with machine-vision camera, lighting or imaging-sensor electrical integration
  • Experience with robotics, industrial automation equipment, or autonomous systems
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Reliability (DfR), and working with contract manufacturers and PCB fabricators
