Job Summary
Front End Electronics Engineer III at NRAO to design, develop, and document cryogenically cooled receivers and ambient-temperature electronics, procure and test microwave components (polarizers, couplers, amplifiers, cables, waveguides), participate in regular Front End design and maintenance activities, with potential hybrid remote/in-office work at Albuquerque and travel domestically/internationally. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) and 3 years of related experience; strong attention to detail, organization, and communication; familiarity with RF, analog/digital circuit design and test equipment; experience with RF/microwave CAD tools (ADS/Genesys, HFSS, CST Studio), PCB design (Altium Designer), and FPGA/firmware tools (Intel Quartus, Vivado). Observatory cannot sponsor H-1B visas for this position. Safety-sensitive role with post-offer drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in design, manufacture, and/or maintenance and repair of receiver systems, microwave antennas and feeds, local oscillators, and microwave/RF mixers and filters
