Job Summary
Take responsibility for the hardware system design and realisation of a complex, large-scale electronics control system. Design, build and test electronic products using analogue and digital circuit design with CAD tools and test equipment. Write documentation of circuits and verification tests. Develop expertise across electronics engineering disciplines and collaborate with mechanical, software, and physics teams to build control systems for quantum computers. Contribute to planning, scheduling, risk management, and project progress reporting. Develop understanding of the firmware and software used to control quantum computers and support fast-turnaround proofs of concept and feasibility discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in high-performance Electronics Design, including Digital, Analogue and Embedded
- Experience in PCB Design using ECAD (e.g., Altium, or similar)
- Experience in FPGA and embedded software engineering for real-time systems
- Use of spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, and VNA
- Demonstrated ability to work with suppliers and contractors
- At least a 2.1 BEng/BSc Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be a team player
