Job Summary
Electronics Technician II performs production manufacturing tasks building and installing electrical wire bundles, wire stripping, connector terminations, and soldering on aircraft electrical systems. Responsibilities include manufacturing, testing, inspection and repair of electrical systems and components; wiring and harness manufacturing and repair; operational checkout and inspections; in-progress and follow-up inspections; soldering of avionics; troubleshooting discrepancies; tool safety; prototype build for low-volume releases; potential field/flight testing travel; and assisting other technicians. Requires a High School diploma or GED, 1–2 years of hands-on electrical wiring experience, experience with electrical schematics, ability to translate designs into build instructions, experience with wire stripping/crimping/tools/testing equipment, knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, soldering skills, MS Office proficiency, and willingness to work overtime/weekends; background check, drug test, and clean driving record required. Preferred qualifications include advanced electronics studies beyond high school, trade/technical school certification, IPC610 J-STD-001 soldering certification, and experience in aerospace R&D, UAVs, CAD for schematics, and prototype design. The role may involve field or flight testing and travel; operates in a manufacturing environment with physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in variable conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 1–2 years of hands-on electrical wire bundle manufacturing experience
- Experience with electrical schematics
- Ability to translate engineered designs into build instructions for assembly and test personnel
- Experience using wire strippers, crimping tools, and testing equipment
- Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems (analog and digital)
- Ability to solder electrical/avionics components
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Experience with safety procedures in aircraft manufacturing
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Must pass background check and drug test
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Willingness to work overtime and some weekends
