Electronic Technician (Television and Camera Systems)

Job Summary
Fabricate, install, maintain, troubleshoot, modify, program, and repair Operational Television–Digital (OTV-D) communication systems, surveillance cameras, and fiber optics for spacecraft and security operations. Maintain camera control systems and broadband distribution networks including Channel 60 and OTV Webpage. Read schematics, interpret work orders, and coordinate with other crafts to ensure job completeness. Provide documentation, reports, and logs; make recommendations for efficiency improvements. Adhere to OSHA, NASA, and customer safety requirements. May assist in training others. Requires U.S. citizenship, valid Florida Driver's License, and ability to pass NASA background investigation and drug testing. Work involves indoor and outdoor conditions with temperatures ranging from cold to hot. May require 2nd or 3rd Shift.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science or Technical Trade School in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
- 1.5 years of related experience is equivalent to 1 year of formal education
- Four (4) years related experience or successful completion of a State or Military-approved bona fide work-related apprenticeship program recognized by the US Department of Labor
- Understanding of electrical theory
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in performing circuit diagnostics analysis
- Ability to read and have a comprehensive understanding of electronic schematics
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation
- Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing
- Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
- Ability to recognize or interpret differences in wire and cable colors
- Ability to receive and transmit auditory information using telecommunication or electronic devices
- May require working 2nd or 3rd Shift
