Job Summary
Electronic Technician III performs maintenance, installation and repair of aircrew simulators and trainers, conducts basic operations, completes pre- and post-flight inspections, and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on highly complex flight simulators. Evaluates and troubleshoots user problems and system malfunctions on complex networked computer, visual and display, laser and weapon simulation, video and audio, high voltage, and interface and peripheral systems; capable of repairing to component level. Documents repairs and manages maintenance records; operates advanced test equipment and instructor/operator stations and related simulation rooms. Roles may include leading a shift and advising on reliability of training devices.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in electronics technology or military electronics technical training or equivalent training/experience
- Must meet all skill requirements for an Electronics Technician II and have broad simulator system level knowledge with specialized training in visual, computer, or display disciplines
- Six (6) years of demonstrated electronic maintenance experience across major trainer systems and sub-systems
- Experience with large-scale D/A integration, simulation, digital interfaces, software maintenance, and comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of training devices
- Proficiency with Windows 10, Windows 2000/NT/XP/Vista/7, UNIX (Linux), MOOG electric motion systems, Wittenstein electric servo systems, SEOS or RCI visual systems, SW/PCIG, HLA/DIS, Enterprise Network (SW/HW/Ethernet/Firewire cabling ARINC 429 and 1553 data bus)
- Lead technician responsibilities and the ability to prioritize and direct staff in absence of Shift Lead
- Experience with Army aviation training systems is a plus
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must obtain or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD secret security clearance
- Special requirements emphasize understanding of Military standards and specifications used in maintenance actions
