Electronic Technician B – Communications (Crypto Vault)

Job Summary
The Electronic Technician B – Communications (Crypto Vault) is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, calibrating, installing, and inspecting communications systems, including operating and maintaining devices such as KG series and KIV-7 series. Candidates should have experience with secure voice devices, data transfer devices, and the ability to work with RF test equipment. The role demands a strong understanding of data transport systems as well as the ability to perform corrective and preventive maintenance. Applicants must hold an AS Degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent and have a minimum of two years relevant experience. Candidates should also demonstrate problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities, as well as acquire a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years as an Instrumentation Operator Repairer (IOR) or equivalent electronic technician experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of test, diagnostic, and measurement equipment
- Experience with troubleshooting of electronic equipment/systems
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and interpret schematic diagrams and circuit cards
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one
Additional Requirements
- Ability to periodically move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
