Electronic Medical Records Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate, maintain, and administer the clinical records program in compliance with state and federal regulations. Monitor records for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and internal consistency while residents are in the facility. Assure all medical record information remains protected, confidential, and secure from loss or destruction. Train new employees on electronic medical record data entry and procedures. Audit records for new admissions, in-house residents, and discharges using proper forms and establish follow-up methods. Develop systems to advise all disciplines on required documentation and work with the team to keep records current. Assemble discharge records according to facility format, obtaining transfer information for continuity of care and referring providers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a nursing license (LPN)
- Have a thorough understanding of the principles of best medical record practices
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel
- The ability to adhere to professional code of ethics
- The ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition to the appropriate staff members
- All employees to be vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus
- All employees are required to provide proof of at least one vaccination for the COVID-19 virus
