Job Summary
Maintenance Technician II responsible for repairing and maintaining plant facilities, machinery, and equipment. Performs routine inspections, uses hand/power tools and test meters, tests and troubleshoots to prevent breakdowns, utilizes SAP for work orders, maintains safety and LOTO practices, and collaborates across departments. Requires understanding of instrumentation, motor controls, electrical schematics, PLCs, VFDs, and NEC code compliance; capable of reading schematics, wiring panels, and installing or programming electrical systems as part of a skilled-trade team. Emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, adaptability, and willingness to work overtime. Location: Richland, WA (USA). Pay rate around $33.26/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or experience in mechanics, electricity, electrical schematics
- Ability to read schematics and wiring panels
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits (ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, meggers)
- Proficient knowledge to troubleshoot and program PLCs with no supervision
- Proficient in panel design including breaker size, wire size, load rating, conduit fill
- Ability to use SAP for maintenance work orders
- Ability to work overtime or off shift when needed
- Ability to maintain documentation and records (log sheets)
- NEC code knowledge
- Ability to fabricate replacement equipment in team setting
