Job Summary
Oversee and conduct routine, ambulatory, and video EEGs for adult and pediatric patients while maintaining electrode integrity in outpatient and inpatient settings. Clean and prepare equipment daily, monitor inventory levels, and troubleshoot malfunctions per departmental guidelines. Prepare patients for testing, administer routine EEGs, and obtain standard recordings by recognizing and eliminating artifacts using activating procedures like hyperventilation and photic stimulation. Hook up surgical grid patients for continuous video monitoring including intra-operative corticography, document all patient data accurately, and archive studies by burning data to CDs and verifying integrity before deletion. Complete tasks within specified timeframes and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion from a licensed EEG school
- One year of videomonitoring (CCTV-EEG) and intraoperative grid hook-up experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of national board examinations (ABRET) in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.) and certification in long term monitoring (CLTM)
- Achieve LTM certification and meeting recertification requirements
- Good communication skills
